Summary
- PowerWash Simulator's final major update, Muckingham Files 6, introduces new locations and bug fixes for players to enjoy.
- PowerWash Simulator 2 is coming later in 2025.
PowerWash Simulator has received its last major content update as developer FuturLab begins the transition to its upcoming sequel. The release of Muckingham Files 6 marks the final major update for PowerWash Simulator, capping off nearly four years of ongoing support and content.
First released in early access in 2021, PowerWash Simulator quickly grew into a niche hit with its calming gameplay as players develop their own power washing business in the town of Muckingham. What began with just 16 cleaning jobs has now expanded to over 100, with players power-washing everything from monster trucks to lunar landers. PowerWash Simulator added new elements to wash through paid DLC packs and free updates, ranging from the addition of Shrek’s swamp and Santa’s workshop to seasonally themed elements for Christmas and Halloween.
PowerWash Simulator 2's Base of Operations Feels Long Overdue
PowerWash Simulator 2 fixes one of the original's wrongs by finally giving players a base of operations in a way that ties the two games together.
The newest and final PowerWash Simulator update, Muckingham Files 6, includes a handful of new locations for players to clean. This free update introduces a subway to scrap, as well as the Sculpture Park and its dirty artwork that could use a power wash. Muckingham Files 6 also comes with a variety of bug fixes to improve players’ experience as they clean anything that comes in their way. This update is the last one for PowerWash Simulator, and comes about five months after FuturLab announced ending support for PowerWash Simulator VR.
With this update, FuturLab officially concludes major support for PowerWash Simulator in order to focus on PowerWash Simulator 2. The sequel is set to release in 2025, with no specific release window announced yet. PowerWash Simulator 2 is set to introduce a new soap system to better scrub dirty elements in a fresh campaign exploring both Muckingham and additional places like Sponge Valley, Power Falls, and Lubri City. This sequel will also feature co-op split-screen for players to discover the main campaign together, as well as a home base they can customize between two jobs.
Once they’re done scrubbing the new places introduced with PowerWash Simulator's latest update and while they wait for the release of its sequel, players can discover other games with similarly relaxing vibes. Among the best games like PowerWash Simulator are Viscera Cleanup Detail, Fresh Start Cleaning Simulator, and House Flipper, which should all make for hours of cleanup gameplay while waiting for PowerWash Simulator 2 to come out later this year. These titles offer a similar sense of satisfaction cleaning dirty elements, and may help fill the gap until more details about PowerWash Simulator 2 are revealed.
