Publisher Team17 has been very proactive about making the game available to as many people as possible, even releasing Golf with Your Friends on Google’s Stadia back during that service’s short-lived heyday. As fans wait for the upcoming Prime drop, they can still play the title on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch.

Golf With Your Friends was one of several games slated to join Prime on May 15, but Amazon recently announced that the title would be delayed two weeks to May 29. It now joins Masterplan Tycoon, Samurai Bringer, Liberte, and Trinity Fusion as part of the final Prime Gaming update of the month. It is worth noting that GWYF will not be played directly from the Amazon Games App. Instead, Prime subscribers will be able to claim a free download code for the GOG Store.

Developed by Blacklight Interactive, Golf With Your Friends is a popular indie sports game that gained notoriety for its chaotic multiplayer mayhem. The game’s wacky power-ups and unconventional settings prioritize fun with friends over a realistic golf simulation experience, which has led to it being a popular title among streamers and YouTube creators. The online multiplayer functionality, which can handle up to 12 players, is another reason for the game’s enduring popularity in online spaces.
Although Golf With Your Friends was initially released to middling reviews in May 2020, its small scale and cute art style make it well-suited for a second life on a subscription service like Prime Gaming.
