If they cast a member of an oppressed minority, I hope they give him more depth and make him less of a comic book villian

It's only computer games, and WOTC d&d which was designed to emulate them, where the gm pushes a narrative on the players.

In old school rpgs, the game master just creats challenges and opportunities. What the players do with them creates the narrative.
