Admittedly Time Stranger's world is way more ambitious than ZA and it has voice acting, which ZA desperately needs in a lot of its cutscenes, they can be pretty awkward. But I think the absolute reverence for Time Stranger is bizarre. I expected so much from it from the reviews and I'm just not seeing it. It's a good game, don't get me wrong. But second highest user score next to Expedition 33 is absolutely wild. It's not remotely close to E33.

There is room for valid criticism with both Time Stranger and ZA. I think a similar amount of room for valid criticism in each despite what the user reviews say. I'd like to give people more credit than to say it's just people being mad at Pokemon/Nintendo and Time Stranger is not Pokemon/Nintendo, but I dunno. I think it's just a combination of that and Digimon fans waiting a while for a new, good game.

If I had a few hours to play and I was picking the one I'd have more fun with, I'm playing ZA every time.

Most of these are in fact useless, although the dragon Giratina is worse than any of them.

But Komala? Not only is Komala not useless it's borderline actually good

stage 2 decks are so much more viable with rare candy and evolution is kind of a core mechanic of Pokemon.

It's a TCG, there is gonna be some luck involved. And more luck based than stuff like Misty created? That's a wild thing to say, not even remotely true

its a little misleading that its just a random chance to get a sneak peek instead, but this is a wild thing to complain about.

Also i don't know all the ins and outs of the laws for gacha games, but sneak peeks result in strictly better odds for the player than the posted odds of getting a specific card from a wonder pick. No sneak peek = 1/5 still, if you do get a sneak peek its better odds of the card you want. So there are still odds posted for wonder picks, your odds are always that or better, and the hourglasses you pay for are for wonder picks, not sneak peeks, so the odds are still there for anything you can spend money on.

What lol... Obviously nobody will have a rank when no ranked games have ever been played. You're complaining about something that is completely organic and will never be a problem again once it gets slightly established.

The wonder pick thing is pretty inconsequential but there's no need to make them take any amount of time longer. Why does it matter if the animation on a glorified loading screen is smooth?

Running stage 2 lines with rare candy and 0 copies of the stage 1 is completely normal in the real TCG. Yes it would probably happen in pocket too if that's how we end up eventually getting rare candy, but that would be intentional, not game breaking.

Cyrus makes you think, it's definitely a good card. Means you can't rely on just hiding on your bench to avoid a KO, but is also conditional enough and doesn't often come online in the early game so walling to build up an evo is still viable. Any unconditional gusting effect makes evolution very difficult, but you shouldn't get to eat 120 damage, retreat and hide away forever with no thought or repercussions. Cyrus is great game design.

the AI doesn't cheat lol. Also, the AI plays horrible. If you ever play a one sided game against the AI, it was on you

the no energy for player one doesn't feel great, but its not by any means gamebreaking
