I think this is easy to fix in the lore - these plant Sims are ancient, and along the way some nefarious Big Bad did something that imprisoned them, then began perpetuating the propaganda that they never really existed. But vampires, being immortal, knew the truth and, because Mother Nature Plant Sim gave them plasma fruit, they vowed to eventually free her and Spruce Almighty. To make sure no one ever thought vampires were going soft and saving the plant sims out of some kind of "goodness", they worked in secret, and ultimately found a way to recreate Plant Sims that would look like a scientific/pesticide "accident". With Plant Sims back in the world, talking to plants everywhere, the location of Mother Nature and Spruce Almighty was finally discovered and they were freed. Only the eldest vamps really know the science behind the return of Plant Sims, and they aren't telling. And there you go - lore fixed. There are probably another couple hundred ways to fix the lore, but this is off the top of my head. 😋
