In gears of war, right path is always the right choice and the canon/ true choice. This also applies to gears 5 ending where you have to choose del (left)or jd (right). In canon, kait will choose to save JD ( right) first and then del (left) because JD play a huge role in the story unlike del who is also a supportinhg character.
