A new game is long overdue.

Similarly L4D2 needed a sequel a decade ago, and it's not perfect or anywhere near as some say. It was simply good for its time.

HL2 was great however, the physics are still decent today even if slightly buggy sometimes.

If only Valve didn't stumble on Source 2.. When these new games come out it's going to have to be more like Source 2.5 or 3 to make up for all the delays, if it doesn't make use of modern hardware (say no more than 3-4 yr old) and looks kinda dated at release that's going to suck.
