Xbox has had some incredible Gamepass Ultimate releases in 2025! (Yes, the GPU price increase is egregious and I still think Microsoft should make it right).

That being said, my top 3 Gamepass games for 2025 are Avowed, Doom: The Dark Ages, and The Outer Worlds 2. I'm a sucker of Obsidian, I genuinely enjoy ALL their games, especially their RPG's which is why you see both Avowed + The Outer Worlds 2 as apart my top 3.

Avowed was great, I was skeptical at first but I'm genuinely happy I decided to give it a shot. The game is fun, the combat is brilliant, and the story is actually a good story but the BEST part of the game is your companions and the companion quests because it gives ALL the characters complete depth.

DOOM: The Dark Ages was absolutely brilliant! A twisted, hectic, fun story set in a weird midevil hellscape, complete with a master class of weapons including the phenomenal chainsaw shield that truly makes the game a blast to play.

Last but definitely not least is the Outer Worlds 2! It's a phenomenal sequel and a ton of FUN! I've yet to finish the game but I'm 30 hours in and it's one of my favorite games of 2025!

Battlefield 1, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 4 are my favorite games in the series. 2042 launched in an awful state but it got better with time and updates, however it was too late.

I'm looking forward to Battlefield 6 and I'm glad it'll be released for current gen consoles only so it won't be held back by last gen consoles. Black Ops 7 will be held back by last gen consoles while Battlefield 6 is bringing true next gen innovation.

I'm absolutely loving gamepass, my wife and I subscribe to get the excellent games but also reap the rewards of special deals on games that aren't on the subscription service, for example I got Assassin's Creed Mirage Digital Deluxe Edition for $11. Now I know it's not a new game or anything but still the Digital Deluxe Edition for $11 was a great buy and I very much enjoyed the game.

I've stopped subbing to PS+ with a few exceptions, simply because it can't compete. If there's a game I MUST play or add to my collection I'll spend the $10 to add whatever game to my PS+ collection & if there's a game I need to play on their PS+ Extra catalog I'll spend the $15 to play the game for a month. That being said, sometimes I have a hankering for Helldiver's 2 and I'll spend the $9.99 to play that for a while lol.

At the end of the day, Xbox Gamepass Ultimate is the subscription service my wife and I get the most out of. Not only for the absolutely incredible games on the service but for the deals and for me personally, Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Gamepass is on a roll and Xbox has an EXTREMELY bright future, especially after the AMD collaboration announcement. Definitely excited for the future of Xbox!

My favorite PS4 exclusive is 2018's God of War. It was a remarkable game with excellent gameplay, a phenomenal story and nice upgrade systems that kept the combat interesting from beginning to end.

People love to hate on Xbox but it's honestly the best gaming platform of them all. Gamepass Ultimate has allowed my wife and I to enjoy gaming like never before. Day One releases are amazing but even the back catalog is off the charts.

I just finished Avowed which was amazing! Now I'm going to start Oblivion remastered along with Atomfall. So glad I got an Xbox Series X because it's probably my favorite console of all time thanks to its amazing power combined with unmatched backwards compatibility allowing me to play a ton of Xbox 360 games.

In the midst of me enjoying the hell outta my Xbox Series X and Gamepass Ultimate subscription my PlayStation 5 hasn't gotten much love since I got platinum playing Spiderman 2. PlayStation has gotten so greedy and their switch to live service games has left me basically abandoning the platform. Hopefully Ghost of Yotei is good enough to make me want to play on my PS5 again but in all honesty my Xbox + Gamepass Ultimate is the best gaming combo for me.

Side note, Gamepass Ultimate comes with the ability to stream games via Xbox Cloud Gaming. It's come such a long ways, and with my Gamesir X2S mobile phone controller I can play a ton of amazing games anywhere there's decent Wi-Fi.

TLDR; Xbox is killing the competition when it comes to giving subscribers brilliant games to play. Anyone who wishes they had more quality games to play consider getting an Xbox along with Gamepass Ultimate because you'll never be bored again lol happy gaming everyone!

Excellent list 👍 I agree American Wasteland was amazing and the fact you could ride BMX bikes as well as skate made the game even cooler. I would pay handsomely if I could get a modern remake of American Wasteland. I was fortunate enough to have played the game on Xbox 360 which was great!
