Jet Li’s Superhero Movie Is Worth Revisiting
I've said it before and I'll say it again, but Jet Li was way ahead of his time with some of his movies and deserves more love and recognition. He would fit perfectly in the MCU as a Chinese superhero, think about it... The government experiment in Black Mask that he was a part of could be China's version of the super soldier serum that was given to Captain America, and that Norman Osborn tried to recreate later in Spider-Man. However instead of turning completely insane like Norman (even though a member of the experiment did go insane which got the project cancelled) this version of the serum made it so they would lose ability to feel pain along with increase strength, speed, etc.
Then you have the movie The One which ties perfectly into the Multiverse saga of the MCU. With Yulaw going around each universe and killing his other variants to become stronger. Since each variants death results in the remaining ones that lives increased speed, strength, etc. This becomes his mission to become The One. So remember when it comes to Superhero and Multiverse stuff just remember Jet Li did it before the MCU.
Also, this reminds of Robin's Multiverse description from Injustice 2 where he believes killing the other variants makes him stronger. Which is literally the whole premise of Jet Li's The One.
