It’s sad that people were so negative. Bar one scene that was a bit hamfisted, all the “woke” stuff these a holes are complaining about is such a minor part of the game that is so easy to ignore.

That they want a well developed immersive story with a range of characters? Yeah, real bummer. Except most people I know that are playing it are late 30s - 40s. Not sure we qualify as “new generation”

Such a shame to abandon universe and lore that has so much more to offer

You realize that you can just move on yourself. You’re on a veilguard post reading it and commenting when you could be exploring other things instead of being sour. The world and lore of Thedas has a lot more to offer to actual fans 🤷♀

I replayed Origins probably 4x in full plus partial replays for the character origins. It was groundbreaking. I struggled with my recent (prep for veilguard replay) because of how aged the graphics are.
Awakening was basically a game in itself and I’ve replayed it maybe twice.
DA2 was also pretty rad, although I disliked that no decisions really mattered and map recycling. Characters and story were great.
DAI: well I fried my PC playing it and had to switch to console. For some reason I only played it the once and then moved on and never went back til two months ago where I needed a refresher in preparation for Veilguard.
Veilguard: initially I didn’t love the realtime play (I feel like DA2 and DAI did a good job with having turn based options as well as working realtime if needed). I don’t love not being able to talk to companions at will like in other games, and it took a little while to get used to the slight change in design.
There was enough recognizable style from previous games to make it work though. The game itself is super playable and having so much more lore available is pretty amazing and while I think there wasn’t enough companion stuff in my opinion, and some too modern feeling conversations (like that blunt “I’m non binary” from Taash. It’s poorly written. Why not make a fantasy term instead of using modern label?! DAI did far better with handling Krem’s trans story). And I feel like we are missing epilogue entirely.
But that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the game- I’m on my second replay and there’s just so much in that world to be explored.
I think people who are moaning about games subsequent to Origins just need to piss off. If they keep making stuff, I’ll keep buying it- love the books and graphic novels. Thedas is a great fantasy setting and there’s so much more we don’t know about that could
be explored. Fact is, if you don’t want more games, just don’t buy them- but don’t go crapping on the people that enjoy them. 🤷♀ just my 2c
