This has to be one of the most redacted and tone deaf decisions I've ever seen.
Are they intentionally trying to kill off one of the greatest and most beloved FPS franchises of all time? Have they learned nothing from the past few years of AAA game release fumbles?
How hard can it be? BF3 and BF4 are still thought of fondly to this day. Just give us modern versions of those. Give us a 1943-esque version of BF Vietnam. Give us Bad Company 3.
These guys must be huffing glue. You can't milk a live service game if nobody is playing it, and unless they absolutely knock it out of the park in terms of actual gameplay (which they won't), then nobody is going to want to play this.
