I haven't looked up all Kishimoto interviews with that being said he really was focused on traveling for the Naruto story. I think of Pokémon and series one Yugioh.

This is quite interesting because on one hand we know the results of one outcome. If Kishimoto writen Naruto as a web-novel or something we could see the results of just his ideas.

For me this anime is no different than a Japanese Superman anime, where Superman is raised in Osaka and the story is more flavorful towards Japanese people.

I prefer the original Korean version because it stays true to the story. Korean, Chinese, and Japanese stories have distinct styles. It's written for a Korean audience. Many Korean stories like this involve conflicts with other countries, with the protagonist leading Korea from the bottom to the top.
