This is not just a PC. It's an x86 platform that runs a linux operating system. This device alone, is a major leap forward for regular people to play games without Windows.
Granted, the intricacies remain that Windows will never disappear. But the windows translation layer on it, is so good that the performance loss is non-existent.
By proxy, this enables geeks like myself who run all of their life on linux machines, to play games as if the old woes of binbows never existed.
Also, having microsoft out of your life is a boon in general.
