Chaos Snaps is different from the Homing Attack too. It can jump locations. It can get pass laser beams, fences, and other obstacles. The homing attack is a straight forward attack and can't get pass obstacles. One uses teleportation and the other uses speed.

Sonic has no projectile attack and he has to wait until the enemy stop using spikes or shields. Shadow has the Chaos Spear to paralyze or destroy the enemy and can move on more easily then Sonic.
