Are we certain they are a Walmart employee? Or telling the truth? Since every walmart I have been to for the past 6 years and looked at getting cards, all have the policy of no returns on trading cards, with that info out seems highly suspect that this 1 walmart does something many walmarts don't (and is listed on walmarts official site that they don't accept returns regardless of condition for trading cards), so this info is probably false due to walmarts long-standing policy on not accepting any returns for pokemon cards
