You are so right. Check out the arc with Sasuke growing up with Itachi. Sasuke was less talented than Naruto. Anytime Itachi flicked Sasuke's forehead, he was passing skills and how to use them to him. Even the final battle, the touch of Sasuke's forehead by Itachi signified him passing on all his skills to him. Sasuke could never be Itachi's opponent in a million years if he was healthy. I dare say even Madara would be no match for Itachi. Look at how he even hid the crow in Naruto to have it break the control on his reanimated body. Itachi was/is in a league of his own.
