Nah, I don't believe that survey. The numbers are quite off based on market health and game company profit reports. Also, the survey doesn't make any distinctions between highest priced AAA games, mid-priced AA games, and budget-friendly indie games. If the survey was true, the video game industry would've died a long time ago. One Steam sale alone and all those numbers become ridiculously unbelievable.
