The Case for and Against Alien: Isolation Receiving a Remaster Before the Sequel
if it isn't broke don't fix it. I would be ok with a remaster that doesn't change the game but fixes what was supposed to be there all along. They could fix the lip syncing for the characters add things like native HDR or fix the anti aliasing but what I want the most is for them to finish the original VR mode. Alien Isolation in VR even unfinished and buggy as hell is the most amazing experience I've ever had in a game. What it needs is full motion controller support proper collision detection and things like that. It was criminal what happened to the VR mode. They could release it as a stand alone VR game and make more money than just a remaster by itself. One other good reason why they maybe should consider a remaster with some light tweaks is it will give this new dev team a chance to dissect the original game and figure out how to make the sequel the way it should be made. Perhaps some modification to the alien AI would be helpful in this regard. I wouldn't mind if the alien's AI was more able to see me when its coming around corners or see me over the top of some tables. I often found the AI was too forgiving when it was clear the alien should have seen me. For example, when I'm crouched behind a table and the alien is coming around it, there's like a fat second where I can adjust my positioning without detection when its obvious that I should have been detected. It really just comes down to line of site issues. Other than that the games damn near perfect.
