The Unwritten Rules of Zelda: The Wind Waker on Nintendo Switch Online Explained
Hmm. I'm going to recheck this, but I was quite sure WiiU Windwaker HD lets you change camera controls. I could absolutely be wrong, but I was actually replaying Windwaker on GameCube hardware when I was gifted the WiiU Windwaker HD. I remember the camera control options being a huge improvement, second only to the crazy beautiful visuals. WiiU Windwaker HD remains the best looking games I've ever seen. I'm extremely curious what the Switch2 version looks like because it's not like BotW. On WiiU BotW, despite being charged excellent in every way, you can tell the WiiU is struggling and is at its limit. You have pop in, you have jagged lines, it's easy to see where improvements could be targeted. But Windwaker HD on WiiU...isn't like that, it's unbelievably gorgeous.
Zelda Fans Are Debating the 'Worst' 3D Game in the Series
I more or less agree about Skyward Sword being the weakest entry in the 3d LoZ games. But just like with Star Trek, just because "Voyager" is my least favorite of the classic Star Trek shows, I still love it. "Skyward sword" is in no way "bad". It just feels like it's missing... Something. Only entry I dont or haven't played yet is "LoZ TotK". I could potentially see it being my least favorite. I haven't played it, but i know how much further it moved away from the genre that LoZ created. BotW managed it pretty well. But TotK seems to have recognized BotW success and decided to exaggerate the parts that are nothing like a traditional LoZ game and further minimalized the things that BotW had done so well.

No Man's Sky Relics Update Makes Widely Requested Change to Abandoned Mode
Even the technically "worst" version of the game is jaw droppingly amazing. I'm playing on Nintendo Switch, a Switch Lite actually, and it's the FULL game, every game mechanic, every update and expedition. It's a true technical marvel and spectacular achievement. With how advanced hardware is becoming in the upcoming generations, these are basically gonna be a thing of the past. So let's all savor these crazy games that are technological miracles that shouldn't be able to even exist. In the semi recent past there was "Resident Evil: Revelations" on the 3ds, a game that seemed to come out of nowhere and was so good that it got a port to the PS3 later on. A NINTENDO game...a 3ds game got a PlayStation port...that sounds like a jhoke and isn't something that happens, but it did. If you've never seen what the original release looks like, you've gotta see it, it is mind boggling to see such high quality, the actual Resident Evil 5 engine running on comically underpowered hardware. Then there's "Xenoblade Chronicles" on the "NEW" 3ds which was also something absolutely jarring to see. It was impressive on the original Wii release, but how they got the full game onto even the slightly more powerful "NEW" 3ds was beyond impressive. I prefer it to the Switch HD port just for the novelty of such a massive game running on a 3ds. Then the Switch No Mans Sky, something so unbelievable that I didn't even know it really existed until finding it on a store shelf and even then I expected a watered down version but figured I'd still get some fun out of it. But instead I was blown away when I realized it was the full experience and it looks decent and runs fairly well. No excessive loading times or any load times whatsoever once you are in a system. Landing, taking off from planets or stations are seamless and makes some other supposedly "advanced" space games seem clunky and dated. Quite a feat for a Nintendo Switch Lite hah
Every Resident Evil Game Not Developed By Capcom, Ranked
That's incorrect. "Resident Evil the mercenaries 3d" controls nearly exactly like the excellent 3ds "Resident Evil Revelations". You DO NOT have to stop moving to shoot. You can't run and shoot, but you can freely walk around, strafe, whatever you want while shooting. That's partially what makes it feel so much better to play. You can even set controls to a "dual stick" option as well as walk around in first person view with controls like a FPS. I've played SO much 3ds RE Mercs and RE Revelations that I know them both inside and out.
7 Best Open-World Games Where You Can Travel Between Planets, Ranked
"No Man's Sky " is definitely the best imo. It's got something for everyone and each one of those things are fleshed out enough to genuinely make every aspect worthwhile to sink the time into. For example I love the space ship aspect and the customization, ship construction and variety of ship types are enough to keep me very engaged for already about 5 months now.
A Resident Evil Game Is Shutting Down Forever
Oh no...a game I didn't even realize still existed is closing up shop! I admit I'm old compared to most gamers, but I fail to understand why dedicated "live service" games are a thing. Please tell me if im missing something here, but the "live service" should just be the multiplayer mode. A PART of what a game should have to offer. Making that the entire game and then when it's no longer profitable they can just pull the plug and you can't even play it anymore, that is the most unappealing design I have ever heard from a gamers point of view. It only makes sense from a greedy company point of view. Im 39 and was born at the perfect time to have seen everything from Atari to PS5. It really upsets me to see what videogames are turning into. What really worries me is that older players like me remember the golden era, but a lot of younger gamers dont really know anything else except this modern BS, like the "Live Service" game model. Some get it, but there's plenty that don't see any problem with this. Thankfully things do seem to be going in the right direction, but it's too early to tell what will be left standing once the dust settles from these once beloved developers demise.
A New 2D Metroid Game Could Prove that Dread Was Just the Tip of the Iceberg
Yes Metroid Dread is AMAZING, but people never seem to mention 3ds "Metroid Samus Returns". There would be no Metroid Dread without it. If you've never seen or heard of this, you are in for a treat. You'll realize immediately that it feels and even looks like Metroid Dread. Much lower res on a 3ds screen, but they are built on near identical frame work. It is technically a remake of the excellent Metroid 2 from Gameboy but only in the way of story and location. It was a brand new game. I'm hoping Nintendo remakes it as HD port, something I have a feeling is already in the works, as well as the amazing 3ds "Legend of Zelda: a link between worlds". Both are top tier gold and need to reach a wider player base than 3ds could provide
No Man's Sky Giving Away Free Ship for a Limited Time
I'm probably in the minority on this, but my favorite class is the "living ships". They have some flaws but imo it is the coolest and most interesting ship. It only has two weapon types, and they don't even really go all that well together, but I really like how the grafted eyes (phase beam equivalent) actually looks different than the standard ship variant. It's a bit baffling that the "spewing Vents" (photon cannon equivalent) was left unchanged though, which is something that bugged me about the Sentinel cannon as well. It's not like it would be difficult to do, the normal NPC ships and the AI sentinel ships have different colors ones so why not player ships? I also like how living ship isn't damaged from using black holes, and jump/warp drive is universal and can go to any type of system. I have the feeling that more weapon types will be added for Living Ships at some point. I hope when they do, that at least ONE of the weapons will be unique and not based on an existing weapon. I also would LOVE a way to change color of weapon fire, even if it is done through a QuickSilver item like the engine trail colors.
Best Handheld Castlevania Games That Still Hold Up
All 3 of the Nintendo DS Castlevania games are excellent. Order of Eclesia is the best one, but Portrait of Ruin is my personal favorite, mainly due to finally getting whips added into the arsenal of equippable weapons. Many different ones, including the vampire killer of course and many others.
6 Classic Horror Games That Are Difficult To Replay Nowadays
I expected to see "eternal darkness" on here. It's a game I absolutely loved and annually berate myself for not keeping my copy on original GameCube. However... Experiencing it at the time of release is very different than revisiting it now. Its sound design remains too tier and the ability target diff parts of an enemy in combat was solid...in theory but the execution feels especially clunky nowadays. Add the visuals of a game that started development as an N64 title before being scaled up for GameCube and it comes off very dated now.
