Maybe the one piece itself is just that powerful so it makes sense for oda to end it there, because we don't know what the one piece is will be confused as to why it would end once he finds it, per chance it could be the ability to rewrite devil fruit powers itself. I mean I don't think the devil fruits initially existed but because of the one piece in laugh tale somebody wish them to be existed through the one piece itself so Luffy might just undo all of it.
