2. No matter what they are putting in headlines, this company did not make dire wolves. There is no dire wolf DNA available. The oldest DNA they used is from the Grey Wolf, now extinct, and the closest relative to the dire wolf they could get. They used DNA from 2 individuals, both several thousand years old, along with more contemporary DNA. So these three new animals are related, but they aren't dire wolves.
