If this is true then this is one change I can certainly get behind, especially if it's the ONLY thing they change about The Last Of Us Part 2. I enjoyed the gameplay mechanics but the pacing of the story just turned me off. They should have left so much of that content out towards what seemed like the actual ending to the game. Then they could've released an expansion pack to throw all of the extra stuff in, or maybe made a short sequel. I genuinely loved the first season even though they did Frank no justice whatsoever. That was a good episode l, but it wasn't GREAT, and I'm not saying that just because he's gay. We already knew that about him and it didn't bother any of us because Frank was a BADASS. We didn't really get to see him kick as much ass as he did on the game. I hope they don't do THAT with anymore characters throughout the series. Don't ruin someone like Abbie by making her skinny and weak compared to how beefed up and strong her character was in the game. But changing the pace of the story and order which certain events occur could work really well if executed correctly.
