The article was more funny than informative... Someone said they were missing 1 airplane? I pre-purchased the aviator edition for $200... It was suppose to come with a 125 planes along with another dozen or so that I purchased for MSFS2020. I had less than a dozen to choose from. None of the adventures and training would load because I never received the planes required. Somebody said that it took them half an hour to get the game going. I started trying to use the program immediately after it was opened to the public. It took two hours to get it up and running, but I only received half a dozen planes. It took three hours to get back in and then I ended up with a dozen planes to choose from, none of which I would normally choose.
Mostly only people who have been using flight simulators for years would spend $200 on a what turned out to be an overhyped not ready for release flight simulator. I have purchased several versions of Microsoft Flight Simulators over the years. I purchased both the Steam edition of MSFS 2020 and the Microsoft Store version of MSFS 2020,,. (There actually are rational reasons for doing this) I have purchased several versions of X-Plane as well as a dozen or so other airplane and drone simulators. I have who knows how many thousands of dollars invested in computers and peripheral equipment. I also own two different actual airplanes and several hang gliders a dozen drones and a house on an airport.
I am fanatical about flying in all forms real and simulated. I am used to purchasing products that do not live up to people's expectations. But none have been a bigger disappointment to me than the launch of MSFS 2024. I am going to stick it out because in six months or so they will probably have enough of the problems sorted out that it will be worth the investment. But this certainly has been a learning experience.
