In season 1, I thought there was a good mix of things that the show did better than the game, and vice versa. For just about everything in season 2, the game did it better. Like the article states, my biggest issue with Ellie is she is almost a completely different character. The game's writing, which I think was absolutely fearless and brilliant, did a great job tearing down the whole anti-hero cliche that is so predominant in our entertainment now. I remember for the first Ellie/Abbie fight, I got so angry I put down the game for over a week. By the end of it though, I totally understood Abby and sympathized with her. In the show, I'm not much interested in either of them. There just isn't much depth, which part of is the writing, the other is they are just rushing through everything and inserting scenes from the game without dwelving into them.

Going to have to try some of these. I have been playing Balatro a little bit. It's weird, I was a poker dealer for 5 years, and I haven't really "got it" yet. It's fun to play a few hands but I don't think I really understand the logistics of everything yet.

I crowd funded this game for like $100. Waited about a year for it to come out, only to be unable to play it for about 6 months as it was completely and utterly broken. It literally became a weekly thing for me to just try and get through one match successfully. It did become fun later on, but by that point I was so fed up with it.

This had to be the worst year for horrible games I've seen. I played a lot of these stinkers on this list, but Funko Fusion was the absolute worst game I think I've ever played in my over 40 years of gaming. Not only does it have the most baffling game design mechanics, such as having to pay in game currency every time you die, but it doesn't explain ANYTHING. I had to watch Youtube videos just to learn how to play the game. This was after hours of just wandering around trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. Then on top of that, the game was completely broken. Sound would pop in and out, going completely silent for 5 minutes at a time. You would get stuck in levels and have to exit out completely to fix them, losing all of your progress. The end world boss fights were lame and all carbon copies of each other. I can guarantee without a doubt, that the game was not QA'd in any way, shape, or form. Absolutely terrible.
