Wow, someone deleted my first comment here. How very immature. Can't accept a different detailed opinion?
You'll still be hard-pressed to argue Kira as the "biggest technical genius" of the entire Gundam franchise when other characters like Amuro, Quatre, Kid, Lowe, Aeolia, & Klim all exist. Fascinating how any SEEDstan would even continue trying to silence this.:3
I'm not sure Iria deserves being on such a list [maybe in a Top 20] seeing as she couldn't put up much of a fight against her main opponent without assistance; and even then, it took another elite team's [Midnighters] efforts, and the final blow from them to win. Same with Julieta from IBO, who I'm glad is NOT on this article's list, being the mediocre pilot she was who couldn't even defeat one of the Gundam Frames with a machine designed to have superior mobility to them.

I feel somewhat-similarly about Katejina, who was the greatest danger in Victory Gundam because of her sheer manipulativeness, not her piloting ability. She's like the lovechild of Reccoa & Flay turned into a full-blown villain after she falls in love with the other major antagonist [the actual enemy ace-pilot Cronicle Asher] in that show, and only awakens her Newtype ability near the end of the series.
But then again, it's not like this article is meant to be objective.
If this were my personal Top 7, it would look like this:
#1 - Soma Peries/Marie Parfacy
#2 - Haman Karn
#3 - Marida Cruz
#4 - Lucrezia Noin
#5 - Roux Louka
#6 - Allenby Beardsley
#7 - Suletta Mercury
If this were a Top 10/15 list, I'd definitely include characters like Cagalli and Fa. The two Ples and Christina Mackenzie may fit, too.
