I think this is a great idea - I play with my folks once a week, due to other commitments, and when I'm not playing with a fire team it's hard to find motivation to grind solo - most of the time I don't want to LFG I just want 15 to 30 minutes every few days where it doesn't feel like a chore and where it helps me progress so I can actually join in. Most of the time by the end of the season I'm under powered and can't join in the "end game" content as a result.
Also, (speaking as a D1 preorder player) I was planning on leaving D2 after this year post final shape, but these changes might keep me going.
