See All8 Best RPGs Where The Story Is Better Than The Gameplay
Venus They tried to monopolized it. They planned for 6 DLCs to tells 6 supplemental stories (3 were soul-searching events when your 3 companions left the team at various parts of the game, the other 3 DLCs were canceled). They had a novel that tell 4 other supplemental stories. And of course, a 30 minutes "movie" that was released before the game. I believe that the plot would be much stronger if these stories were incorporated into the main game.
Best Games That Go Harder Than They Need To
I've been a fan of FF7 since it first came out. I've made 3 different costumes for the game. People actually thought I am a cosplayer. (I'm not).
And I think FF16 is better than Rebirth. Rebirth was full of fillers. You get to a new area and go through the same checklist (Towers, Lifesprings, Chocobo reststop, Protorelics, etc). I love the story but they are far and few in-between all the chores.
Square should have made FF7 into 2 games instead of 3.
Queen's Blood is simple. Given the small deck (15 cards), small grid, and the ability to swap cards at the beginning, the player can breeze through them with the same strategy.
Most of the complaints about FF16 is its combat system. Outside of that, it's a fleshed out story with side quests giving insights into the side characters. They feel less of a chore and more of getting to know what make that world ticks.
