whooooo! Love parasites eve so much. Only thing I really dislike is having to replay almost the whole game again to get to the bonus dungeon. Not really a fan of games making you replay portions with little difference

My main gripe with demon slayer overall is I feel like it’s world building is pretty anemic in comparison to most of the other big shonen anime and most western made series, and it often felt like the plot was just there to take the characters from one fight to the next. A good earlier example is the short arc right after Tanjiro becomes a slayer, when he visits a village plagued by the disappearances of girls. In any other anime, probably the arc would follow the template of the character arriving in the village, learning something about the people there and what’s going on, meeting some new one-off characters who would help or hinder him in his quest, and may have their own development and subplots, the main character would investigate what is going on, and ultimately uncover who is behind the disappearances and confront them. But demon slayer leaves out that kind of typical story development, as soon as Tanjiro arrives in town he immediately knows a demon is around, and locates him right away, and a fight ensues. Do we learn anything about the town? Or the people living there? Do we learn much about the random side character who was there from the village? Not really. We just get right to the battle, without very much of the actual lead up that you would expect in most other series. On the one hand it can be a bit refreshing to just get down to business, but on the other hand all of that “lead up” type story telling is usually where the world building and depth and context is built in in other series, and demon slayer has a lot less of that. It’s world building does get better as it goes along, but I still feel, even as we are entering the final arc, that we don’t really know as much about this world and these characters as we typically would in any other series.

Cererra I don’t care, but I thought at first that maybe Capcom cared. My initial thoughts was basically “is Capcom saying that a woman needs to be the protagonist because it’s “more believable” for a woman to be scared than a man”? But in the end after thinking about it, I don’t really think that is what they meant, so it no longer bothered me

Don’t understand why so often Nier Automata is praised for its “replay value”. It’s all part of the same storyline playthrough, you are just switching characters. Stopping after you finished playing as 2B would be like turning off Last of Us part 2 after finishing Ellie’s campaign, or like stopping Sonic adventure 2 after only completing team Sonic’s stages. That isn’t “replay value” that’s just actually completing the game to its full extent. Not sure thag Nier Automata has anymore “replay value” to it than your average game, once you have truly finished the whole story

What is this based on, other than just speculation because of how long the first movie took?

I would really hope that with a multi-part story like this, with cliffhangers and stuff, that they would try to make sure the parts came out at a reasonable intervals. Imagine if there was a three year gap between Infinity War and End Game?

i was only annoyed at the comments at first cause I thought they were potentially sexist. Like are they saying that Leon isn’t a good match for horror because he’s a man, but the new protagonist is because she’s a woman?

Honestly felt like the series kind of pulled back on Disney in a way ever since the very first entry. Arguably the first game is the entry in which the Disney elements have the biggest impact on the plot; with Sora having a significant plot reason to travel to different worlds, I.e. Finding and locking the key hole of each world to protect them from the heartless, as well as the Disney villains cooperating in an alliance to gather the princesses of heart, so they can unlock Kingdom Hearts. Ever since the first game it’s kind of felt like the Disney worlds were just there to be episodic filler events between the “real plot” that tends to occur in the non Disney worldS, focused on the KH original characters and villains. Also, aside from Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, Disney specific characters have little role or impact on the larger plot

I loved Enter the Matrix. It may have had some glitchy issues and difficult vehicle levels, but it was still super cool to play a game that tied into the story of the movies

Personally I would be very hyped for a RE1 remake. If it were me though I’d like to see them do it as some kind of reimagined combined Zero and 1 remake, get two remakes for the price of one ^_^.

Main reason I want to see a RE1 remake though is because the previous remake for the GameCube (since rereleased many times) is considered canon to the “original” series timeline, where as the remakes of 2 through 4 are clearly in an alternate timeline. So I’d like to see an RE1 remake that could serve as that entry for the alternate remake timeline.

I like Eddie. And I very much dislike Heather. But not surprised she got number 1 -_- 3 is overrated, I thought it was the worst in the series, and heather was one reason why. I thought she was too whiny, angsty, and angry.

Jungle fury should be on here. Easily had some of the best zord battles and great on foot fights too

some of the American created fights in mystic force blew me away. I still remember that boxing fight early on, and the first battle with the battleizer

MMPR is only here for nostalgia I think. It’s choreography was actually pretty basic

So far whatever differences have been created are minor and superfluous. Rebirth still sticks extremely close to the original game’s story, outside of the usual expansions to the narrative, nothing has gone off the rails in terms of the main narrative yet, and the tiny glimpses the game gives us of alternate worlds are barely even relevant yet

16 should be on this list. The number of quests and marks are large, but they are also very time consuming, with all the dialogue and cutscenes that come with them, especially the last few. Not to mention the two DLC bonus quests

So would you have preferred to be forced to grind Krile back up in all the jobs Galuf had earned? Don’t care if it would have made his sacrifice more meaningful, that would have been awful

Making the calls real time would make calling support during boss fights and difficult situations much much harder. And you can’t just remove them entirely because for better or worse a huge amount of the narrative, as well as optional background info, is contained in them

Must be one of the only people who actually liked the second half of Xenogears. There were definitely parts that I wish were actual dungeons, but at the same time the way the story unfolds on the second disc was so trippy and heady and unique among RPGs at the time that it was still really compelling to me, and I actually would change very little even if I could. It was like the finale of Evangelion
