I disagree on FF16s story being good. It was good until after the titan fight, maybe even the pheonix fight but after that, it fell off a cliff.

Barnabas and ultima were awful villains, they were boring and basically had no personality, the whole story also shifted away from it's main plot, that it was building up for the whole first half of the game and left it unresolved.
