Yea no thanks the benefits aren't there. Any company that intentionally bricks a system because you buy a game second hand or connect a 3rd party accessory is asking to go out of business. It's entirely their fault for not having a method to resell the games and deregister it from old accounts. Or recognize a genuine cartridge over a digital copy. In other words Nintendo bricking systems is theft they do not deserve my money. They definitely don't get to dictate what pariperals I use by damaging them or disabling a 500 dollar system. They can go out of business they don't deserve to continue operating.
No parents aren't going to invest in a 500 dollar machine that can become a paperweight for buying second hand games or using accessories that aren't Nintendo. They might as well just start leasing these out. As a parent I would not buy it knowing that at Nintendos whim it's worthless even if they make a mistake they don't have to fix it. That's a no for me even though I've bought Nintendo for 30 years.
