I've played battlefield since 2 along with quite a few mates, the early ones (2 & 2142) stand out the strongest, it was a level playing field (not over cluttered with attachments etc.), squad/team play was crucial (people actually revived each other), a good commander could change the tide (why was this ever removed?), the maps where large without being overly so and gave a good mix of close quarters and ranged fighting, and every round was epic fight to the death with tactics and teamwork. Personally I'd like to see a remake of 2142, keep the core of it but update graphically, in my circles you can judge a player with 1 word and gaging their reaction, that word is 2142
