Most of the people watching SL are new to anime or kids. They don't want to drive into anything with deep plot which is why it's a good starter anime, and it has no filler and barely 50 episodes which makes it the perfect package. Regardless, though it pales severely in comparison to the rest of these, people have the right to watch what they want and it's fine too. You can't take a horse to the stream but we'll all know you sure as hell can't force it to drink water.

To be fair the entirety of the Isekai genre does the "focus on MC" way better than SL. It is not "unique" in the least. Hell I don't even think most SL leveling fans can name anyone apart from jin woo including and I read the manga way before the anime was even hinted to come out talk less of the trailer.

Every shounen anime that's more than 2 seasons has a repetitive plot. Your point doesn't stand.

You have to give me your definition of a solid plot if freiren's Plot is a "barely". Naruto's plot isn't as "simple" as SL, either you watched Naruto from reels or you never got through the first 20 episodes.
