See All‘Not Everybody Has 88 Hours to Play Red Dead Redemption 2’ Shawn Layden Discusses Game Development Cycles and What Players Need
I 💯 disagreed with him. Games should be long and give hours and hours of joy. If you're paying $70-$80-$90 for games now a days they better not be some 20-40 hours. I think you should be able to play different version of the same game in playthroughs like many already do but to talk about making them shorter is ridiculous. This sounds like another greedy CEO of a company that only worries about making $$$ and not the consumers like every business does now a days. It's sad we need the businessmen of the 70s 80s 90s as the economy was bad they'd either take a slight hit because they were making plenty of money before. Nowadays they never lower prices like they used to if the economy was good and this is for every business. Games in the 80s were $50 consoles were $150-$200 imagine the profits they made for all the years.
