See AllHow Virtua Fighter 5 REVO’s Rollback Netcode is a Literal Game Changer
Incredible to have this amazing game on pc, must play for anyone with a passing interest in fighting games imo, or you're missing out...but while you explain at a very basic level what the point of rollback is meant to be, you make zero comment on if it seems any good while playing this game.
How was matching making for you? How good is the connection you're typically getting?
How often is the connection bad? How does it it compare to the other games you mentioned like sf6?
So far I think the answers are not so encouraging for me. I get plenty of good connections, but also a lot of poor connections. I have to wait on the confirmation screen for a least 5 seconds to see if the 4 bar connection drops down. Anything other than a 4 bar is potentially pretty unplayable (tho sometimes 3 bar does ok) sometimes I have to reject several poor connections, before matchmaking breaks and then I have to restart the game before trying again. Which works out as a fairly slow rate of games. (I'm happy to lab between games but if it's like this now with week 1 player base it's worrying for the future)
For comparison with sf6 it's very rare I get a bad connection. Now whether this is a playerbase size issue, or the rollback netcode, or the matchmaking just suggesting bad matches (hopefully the latter and there should be a fix for that soon) Your mileage may vary but it seems like a major ommission to make no comment on what it's actually like, at all.
