See AllMajor Anime Piracy Website Suddenly Stops Adding New Content
No one who pirates content is going to switch to legal services if their pirating site of choice is taken down. They will either switch to one of the million other sites or just give up watching anime, the latter of which would be a shame. If you really want people to switch to legal alternatives you need to 1. Make the content more accessible, and 2. Make the money it generates actually go to the people who make the anime. Due to the fact that neither of these things happen, pirates rightfully go to alternate means that give better experiences without the impossible prices and have no moral qualms about it because the only people they're taking money from are rich investors that deliberately underpay anime studios. Right now the most moral way to watch anime is to pirate it and donate money you would be spending on the streaming services directly to the animators behind the anime you pirate.
