We already knew that they were going back to after bo2. Any zombies fan that did their research knew that they were planning on releasing zombie Chronicles 2 dlc for bo6. And that is how they plan on tying them together. The old characters will be on the dlc, and the dlc is is the only continuation of the old story. Bo6 zombies and zombies Chronicles 2 are two different storylines completely.
