Za naruto beats enemies,to a near death state (so far, same as luffy, right, except luffy stops there, not much developmentafter that...) THEN shows them their wrongs and turn them into friends (gaara, neji, sasuke, obito, and the list goes on)

I'd say that's much more interesting than luffy's way, as naruto actually manages to connect with them and understand why they act a certain way, to try and redeem them
