See AllPS5 Pro Consoles Aren't Selling Out
I grabbed one on the 26th. I have a PS5 Disk, so I'm not exactly sold on keeping the Pro Console. I also look at it this way, I also was looking at going to PC to fulfill my gaming addiction, so this was a happy medium I guess.
I do plan on selling my PS5 Disc if I end up keeping the PRO.
With the way the landscape is these days, who knows how it will look in Nov when the PRO is released, we shall see???
PS5 Pro is Even More Expensive Outside the US
I couldn't agree More D..So you pay $699.99 for the Base PS5 Pro (if you want to call it a base, since it's a NO Disc Drive and Vertical Stand). So on Nov 7th if you buy the PS5 Pro here in the states it's 1. $699.99 2. Sales Tax at 6% = 41.99 3. Total of $741.98. NO THANKS now how about with a vertical stand and a disc drive. What is the total price with a disc drive & Vertical Stand? PS5 Pro $699.99 + Disc Drive - $79.99 + Vertical Stand - $29.99 Total of $809.97 + Tax of $48.59 @ 6% final total of $858.56, NO THANK YOU.
The disc drive price I took off of Direct.playstation.com for the PS5 Slim. Will The disc drive at $80 even fit the PS5 Pro? Or will PS come out with it's own PS5 pro disc drive? The vertical stand I just took the average price. You can get the stand for as low as $15 on Amazon to as high as $70 on E-bay. The price on Direct.playstation.com is $29.99So in November of 2024 the PS5 Pro is released at this ridiculously high price point then in 2026 the PS6 is released, is it worth to pay this price for a two-year upgrade? Not even the PS4 Pro was released at such a increased price point when compared to the base PS4 AND the PS4 Pro has a disc drive.
I can go to Game Stop and trade in my PS5 on 14 Sep for:
A. $357.50 - This is the value for a "pro" member and the price is for Store Credit. Of course, I wouldn't trade my PS5 in for store credit, for me there is no need.
B. $250.25 - This is the "pro" version for cash.
If you don't have a Game-stop Pro membership, then the cash price for trade-in is $227.50. Of course these are the prices for today at 1939. Who knows what the trade-in prices will be when the PS5 Pro is released in Nov.
If I was to get the PS5 Pro with all the bells & whistles at $858.56 and trade in my PS5 at Game-stop for $250.25 then my final price would be around $608.31. Unfortunately for me this is too much for a console with a life of two to four years!!
