Rat-is-Bae

Watched some of the 2000 one, at age 12 and legit had no idea what to make of it.

2004 and 2008 takes me back to crowding around other peoples' computers and just bingeing.

Read manga version of 2009 one first; was probably one of the first manga I wanted to read past first few vols (also one of very few Shonen manga I read where a cocky, hot-headed MC nearly has an emotional breakdown due to sheer rage and helplessness as early as vol 2).

All awesome memories, but my vote goes to FMA:B mostly for how amazing the source material is.

Out of curiosity, I did look up whether or not breathing could improve one's fighting and was actually rather surprised at the level of realism (obviously it's not on the level of "water dragons" appearing out of nowhere but still cool)

Oddly enough, as I am from anime only, I don't hate any of these guys. I almost did with Tengen, but after a while I was like, "you know what? Aside from that one suspiciously out-of-character moment with Aoi, he's not that bad a guy."

My thoughts on Shinjuro are more complicated, as I know firsthand how scary being raised by such a person can be. His putting the bottle down, right before breaking down in tears is a sign that he is willing to change, and may likely better himself for his surviving son. That earns him my forgiveness.
