I think if you try playing in a different save it gives you the option to request they send it again! Ik you've read it already, but maybe you can try that? You could even get the same sims from your library.

And about the lady's tome, I got confused because I had to get it from build mode, idk if that's the same issue you came across.

I was troubleshooting for weeks and weeks because midway through week 1 the plumbobs disappeared. The ones at the top left, with the star next to them, that are supposed to show you the tasks? Completely disappeared. It's happened to a lot of people apparently, and even if you remember or google the tasks that came next it won't count them.

I did have to unpause and give it a few seconds before they showed up, and by the time I accidentally unpaused I'd given up. The surprise was so cool, I swear my heart jumped. Like up, not outward. Lol.
