I've used the Carbine a lot, but I picked the small mag over the extended or drum mag for the vastly improved ergonomics. I don't magdump, so for players who do bursts of controlled fire, it is the way to go. 12 mags is also a nice added bonus.
To be honest, I think it looks a bit bland. Especially compared to Helldivers.
You can do a lot with third person view that you just can't do with first person view, without making it feel weird and once of those things is mobility.
The dive in Helldivers is such a crucial move. One you make several times within a single match. Sometimes several times a minute.
A lot of that dynamic movement and mobility is lost with first person view.
