There will be other Baldur's Gate titles. Hasbro/WotC is notorious for creating new content for established it's. However the next one will probably be made by a studio that they can control and make sure that there are countless DLCS, expansions, exclusive ultimate versions for about double the price - and, of course countless bugs.

Final Fantasy XV was very ambitious and had a great plot, but you definitely had to buy all of the tunes for the Regalia's stereo because those driving scenes took forever. The combat was beyond repetitive and unless you purchased all of the character DLCS you had no idea what was going on.

That, and the blatant product placement almost made me feel like it wasn't a true FF game regardless of the great story.

It's always VIi. The only thing that game provided was hype. Where are the real games that opened up the world?

Might and Magic 4 and 5. Wizardry 7. Ultima 4. The Bard's Tale trilogy.

And, of course, FINAL FANTASY VI!

I could handle the entire cast of VI getting their own games (even Gogo and Umaru) because they were all sharing in the amazing plot of the game.

Of course, I would also love to see a story about Vivi taking place in the period between Zidane leaving to try and rescue Kuja to his final days when he created his children.

I like this list. The fact that Stars! Was listed and MOO2 is number one makes me smile - mostly because in order to appreciate games of today, it is best to remember how we got there and what we still need to live up to.

I know that it's technically not open world, but where's the love for The Outer Worlds? They actually have a whole set of options based upon having the thought process of a turnip.

Pretty is nice, but graphics alone do not make great games. Look at Final Fantasy VI. While much prettier titles have been released in the series, none have come close to the writing, music, or characters.

Why is it always VII? Sure, it's popular, but that doesn't make it the best of the series. How VI because of the better plot, music, and characters? How about IX with it's cool retro feel? How about XII?

VII will always feel like watching the high school quarterback running for president expecting to win because he is so popular.

FF IX is hands down the best game released on the PSX. Period.

But, there were some really great RPG franchises not made my Squaresoft out there like Wild Arms and Suikoden. These were the great games that helped folks get their JRPG groove on in-between Final Fantasy titles.

And once again Final Fantasy VI isn't on the list? There was so much going on in that game. Beautiful towns, floating islands, an opera house even!

And, then you get to see it again in ruins in the second half of the game! Combined with the great soundtrack you will never see this kind of atmosphere duplicated no matter how much Enix tries.

TBH, I am so sick of VII. 27 years ago it was a really good game. Not the best in the series, but still better than most JRPGs out there. Since then, there have been movies, prequels, mobile games, cameos in other titles and of course this blatant cash grab remake trilogy. If they could put just a fraction of that energy into a 2D remake of VI or a nice remake of IX I would feel less hesitant to buy their products.
