The thing is that the market has changed now in general, those big series (naruto, bleach, one piece, dragon ball etc) were released during the golden era of anime/manga which is why they managed to become that big, today the market is a lot worse and its impossible for a manga to have as much of an impact, during mid 2010s there was still room for big series which is why we had stuff like hero academia, black clover, demon slayer and jutsusu kaisen but even they were not as popular as the big 3 and lasted a much shorter time

Hero academia ended ages ago, hunter x hunter is pretty much a cancelled series, and black clover dropped out of schedule but its near the end as well, at best couple more chapters left

What? Isekai are a background thing and were never mainstream in terms of market share, their sales are literally at the bottom, even the worst selling shounen sell better than all the isekai combined, also solo leveling is not an isekai and it ended ages ago

this article refers to manga in general, because shounen are pretty much 99% of the manga market, (including the sports shounen like blue lock)

There was no "competition" since long time, all of the popular non-shounen jump titles finished ages ago, like fairy tail, tokyo ghoul, attack on titan and seven deadly sins, today asides from maybe blue lock there is nothing noticeable from those magazines either,

and the only relevant titles shounen jump has left are one piece and chainsaw man (without counting black clover which dropped out of schedule), its just that the whole market changed in general

the person who wrote this article obviously has no idea what theyre talking about, the wrath dragon was an arc in season 3, in fact season 3 adapted the 2 following arcs after that as well, season 4 begins at arc 17

blackbeard wanted to make the pirate island a legal country by gambling garp's life, he doesnt have reason to attack world goverment and make his reputation with them even worse

we arent in the final arc, we are in elbaf arc currently and blackbeard/shanks are not part of this arc at all so far, it seems they are saved for later arc, this arc is about imu and the gods knights/world goverment in particular

this is the same person that said kaiju no 8 would last 5+ more years and its ending in 2 chapters, there are literally 2 islands max left after elbaf (lodestar and raftel), and oda's health is already much worse than before, he wouldnt last that long if he kept going with this manga and schedule

if anything in this arc the world goverment is going all out, imu, gods knights, gorosei, mariejois is burning etc, which after elbaf leaves only shanks, mihawk and blackbeard for lodestar and raftel

the only major location left between elbaf and raftel is lodestar (the last island), elbaf is the closest big island to lodestar, theres no point for them to go backwards to other places, only time they did that was when they split to train during the timeskip

yeah manga authors in general (especially those mainstream shounen ones) are notorious when it comes to that, they completely change everything they say and there is no actual structure, and on top of that one piece which is kind of an anomaly as in its unlikely to ever end at this point when it was supposed to much long ago
