I only started watching the show at my daughters request. Absolutely loved season one. My teen daughter and I were excited for season 2. Neither of us are gamers so had no idea what was coming. When they killed off Pedro Pascal, we agreed it was the end of the show for us. Have had zero inclination to watch a single episode since. So I can tell you that killing Joel absolutely drove away many casual viewers.
