I love the 'Beyond the Beef' quest in New Vegas. It has a lot of different options and that makes it fun on subsequent playthroughs.

In terms of good writing I quite like the main quest in Fallout 4's Far Harbor. DiMA in particular is an interesting character with an interesting backstory.

The gunplay in Fallout 3 is quite dull, especially by today's standards. If I remember right it's also somewhat stat-based so your accuracy will be determined partly by your stats. It's more of an action RPG system than what we got in Fallout 4 and 76.

I've always loved that attention to detail in Bethesda games. It makes the games more immersive and the world feels more alive as a result.

I also feel that Oblivion's faction quests and side quests are more enjoyable than Skyrim's. In Oblivion it feels like there's a lot more variety particularly to the side quests. Oblivion has a lot more quests that don't send the player to another dungeon on a fetch quest.

I'll be surprised if ES6 doesn't have loading screens. The engine that Bethesda GS usually uses (Creation Engine) usually requires loading screens to allow the player to leave one cell and enter another.

The game worlds in Skyrim, Oblivion etc are divided into different areas called cells. The engine usually loads one cell at a time. When the player enters a town in Skyrim for example that town will be one cell. If the player leaves that town then they enter another cell. The game engine will load the next cell and remove the previous one during the loading screen.

The game checks the player's save file for any changes they have made in the game during the loading screen too if I recall correctly.

Yeah the system in the original Oblivion was terrible: it was very easy to screw up your character levelling-wise and end up too weak compared to all the enemies in the game. I don't know what Bethesda were smoking when they created the system in the original Oblivion.

Oblivion is a classic and one of my favorite games. I love it in spite of all its jank and issues. It looks like the remaster has retained a lot of the quirks and idiosyncrasies that the original game had.
