See AllOblivion Remastered Players 'Hate' Being a Vampire
Having played from Morrowind to Skyrim I have to say Skyrim's vampirism is heavily neutered, we all know the lore of vampires. They burn up in the sunlight, and yes while oblivion vampirism will seem extreme and unfair to many of the new players who only ever played Skyrim that sadly is part of the challenge you have to keep a eye on this is you contract, though since it has a while to set in you can cure it easy before you become a vampire. The old quest was brutally hard and something you either bee lined to do to have a cure or just play at night. The change from what I have heard and understood is still difficult but not brutal and quest stopping.
Someone mentioned a vampire in the arena quest in Oblivion, they are not a full vampire they are a half vampire thus giving them the ability to be out in the sun, but doing his quest is the only way you would even find out he is a half vampire at all.
I short of it all I enjoy the fact the vampirism is more a risk to have while giving you these new powers and Vets shouldn't be telling new players to Oblivion to suck it up, it was just as difficult for us when we first played and contracted vampirism. I wish thr new players luck and understand that this was part of the original mechanic which adds to the challenge.
Fun fact there was a bug in the original where you could feed once and so long as you didn't 'wait' you never got hit by the sun damage even in broad daylight. I think fast travel also removed the bug. But it was funny.
