I'm not sure, if there were hardware (disks, thumb-drives, etc.) For this game.
But as Diablo (1) taught us, copyrights do expire & the games are free afterwards, for those who still have their hardware.
The best part for Diablo (1) is that a lot of the community developed ad-ons are also free. So, Diablo (1) is a lot more like Diablo 2, and even some better additions. (It has "run/walk", "Armor sets", an "individual chest", "community chest", etc.)
So kudos to Ot for having a private server & preserving their SW. And to those keeping it on their phones. (You might want to move an archive copy to a PC.)
