For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From
I did Gil's romance and my issues with his storyline is the lack of options on the parental decisions. Ryder and Gil are explorers, one being the Pathfinder. Committing to a child when, despite Meridian, there was an incredible amount of work towards settling to still be done did sit well with me. Neither of them would have the time to really be around for the baby. Plus, there was no option for Ryder to really give pause to the idea. The man's only 22 and becoming a parent is huge. There's no option of "Hey, I need time to really consider this," or "I don't think it's the best time for me, there's still a ton of work I have to do." It's straight to a definitive yes or no. I love the idea of the protagonist becoming a parent, but it's hard knowing they're out there constantly on the move, solving problems, and constantly in the line of gunfire.
Resident Evil 9 May Already Have Sealed its Protagonist's Fate
I have some inkling that Jill will be coming up in 9. She was focused on more in Death Island after she was officially reinstated as a BSAA agent and she's dealing with the mental trauma of being under Wesker's control still. Good opportunity to evolve her character in a new chapter, plus give insights to the inner workings of the BSAA and possibly how their use of bioweapons seen in Village came to be.
