FOR THOSE STRUGGLING TO FIND WEIRD WATER: I've been on this for a day, and had read/watched all the guides without luck. I finally figured it out.

The first night after you trigger the location icon is the ONLY night you'll be able to find the artifact. If you're nearby and happen to trigger the location (when the (?) Pops up on the map where the anomaly is located) you have only one night to find it. If you miss it the first night, it's gone.

As long as you're in the right place at the right time on the FIRST night you've walked nearby, you'll find it in one of the three spots mentioned. Hope this helps!
