Stardew Valley has been incredibly influential and popular, no doubt there. If you are giving praise for "genre blueprints" however, wouldn't you say Harvest Moon (1996) is the original farming sim?

Stardew Valley itself was heavily inspired by Harvest Moon. The creator made the game knowingly and lovingly in the mold of Harvest Moon.

In this context it just seems weird to me not to mention it at all.
